Neva Eidson Buchanan, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 92 years of age, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 8, 1920, to parents Robert A. Eidson and Ruby O'Neal Eidson. Neva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tomas Buchanan; two brothers, Gus and Bob Eidson; one sister, Helen Meahl; and daughter, Nancy Gettig. Neva is survived by daughter, Marilyn Horn and husband, Derl of Springdale; two sons, Tom Buchanan Jr., and wife, Lois of Springdale, and Kenneth Buchanan and wife, Karen of Dover; grandchildren, Cynthia and Peter Marshall of Springdale, Catherine and Steve Denton of Tulsa, Chris and Jennifer Horn of San Antonio, Texas, Tom and Melinda Buchanan III of Little Rock, Jennifer and John Krentz of Russellville, Josh and Irene Buchanan of Dardanelle and Jessica and Jon Forst of Pea Ridge; great-grandchildren, Alli, Paisley and Caspian Denton, Noah and Faith Marshall, John Samuel, Caleb and Matthew Krentz, Mia and Macey Buchanan, Zoe and Olivia Forst; and many nieces and nephews. Neva was an active member of Cross Church in Springdale, where she trusted Jesus as her Savior at 10 years of age. She loved her church and served in many different ministries. A special interest was teaching underprivileged children in Kids Bible Club. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed sewing, knitting and crochet. Neva worked as a secretary for George's Inc. and retired after 22 years. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Cross Church, Springdale with Peter Marshall and Steve Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Springdale.
