Regina Sallis Dew, 89, of Fort Smith died May 4, 2013. She was born on Aug. 6, 1923 in Charleston, Ark. to Delmar and Bettie Sallis. A lifelong resident of Fort Smith, she graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1941, attended Fort Smith Community College and in 1945 she graduated from the University of Arkansas. Regina was a family social worker for the Red Cross in both Fort Smith and Dallas. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Women's Group, Sparks Guild and Fort Smith Day Nursery. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Smart Holland and her husband Thomas, of Mililani, Hawaii and Regina Smart Thompson and her husband Sydney, of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Thomas Pierce Holland, Davis Smart Holland, Roscoe Charles Thompson and Caroline Sparks Thompson; her sister, Mary Newell Coil of Houston, Texas; and her late husband's son, Roger D. Dew and his wife Alice Thorsen of Lexington, S.C. Regina is preceded in death by her second husband Roger M. Dew, first husband Charles W. Smart, a brother, Rex Sallis, and a sister, Lorene Hardy. Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church. Services and Cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. The family will greet friends following the Memorial service in the church parlor.
