Iva 'Louise' Phillips

Iva "Louise" Phillips, age 94, Bentonville, Ark., passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. Mrs. Phillips was born Jan. 26, 1919, in Prosperity, Mo., the daughter of Walter Sharp and Elise Jones. She lived in Carterville, Mo., and moved to Bentonville, Ark., about 20 years ago. She married Cecil Earl Phillips on June 29, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of the Carterville First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She was fondly known as Grandma at the Hiwasse Hilton, in Hiwasse, Ark. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter; and one brother. Survivors include one son, Kenneth Phillips and wife, Juanita; one sister, Shirley Prier; three great-grandchildren, Seth Edwards, Abby Edwards and Madison Edwards, all of Joplin; and two great-great-grandchildren, Gracie Edwards and Baker Malone. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Carterville Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home, Webb City, Mo.
