Iva Bell Goodwin

Iva Bell Goodwin of Oklahoma City, formerly of the Sunset Community, died Monday, March 25, 2013, blessing us with her presence for 96 and a half years. She was born Sept. 23, 1916, in the Sunset Community, Ark., the daughter of William Henry and Roxie Carmen Rush Luper. She worked hard to provide for her family and her country as a Rosie the Riveter. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, teacher and friend, Iva Bell's memory will live on in hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Omar Corwin Coplin; her second husband, Ted U. Goodwin; and grandsons, Terry Goodwin and Michael Shawn Goodwin. She is survived by her daughter, Carmen Coplin Caton and her son, Michael Ted Goodwin and his wife, Debra. She lives on through her six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 28 at Moore's Chapel. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First Assembly of God Church in Winslow and burial will be in Parks Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
