James Doyle "JD" Walker, 68, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home. He was born May 8, 1944, in Bentonville, Ark., the son of Dottie and David Arthur Walker. He owned and operated his roofing company, JD Walker Roofing, for over 35 years. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, classic cars, spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and visiting with his brothers and sisters. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he obtained an honorable discharge. He was a lifetime resident of the Northwest Arkansas area. JD is survived by his wife, Dianne Walker of the home, whom he married May 19, 1971; two sons, David A. Walker of Rogers and James B. Undernehr of Avoca; two daughters, Latricia Rudman and her husband, Charl, of Rogers and Stephanni Wood of Rogers; two brothers, Connie "C.H." Walker and his wife, Clois, of Bentonville and Onnie Walker and his wife, Sue, of Pea Ridge; three sisters, Glenna Thompson of California, Reba Windle and her husband, Virgil, of Kansas, and Shirley Womack and her husband, Bill, of Bentonville; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Dorothy Pruitt, Mary Townsend and Bonnie Walker. Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eastside Assembly of God in Bentonville. Funeral service will be Friday, March 29, at 10 a.m. at Eastside Assembly of God. Graveside service will be Friday, March 29, at 4 p.m. at Zion Hill Cemetery in Pope County, Ark. Memorials may be sent to Circle of Life Hospice. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville.
