Leyda Telford

Leyda Telford of Rogers, Ark., passed away March 22, 2013, in Rogers. She was born July 13, 1920, in Norborne, Mo., to the late Cash and Iva May (Herring) Daugherty. She enjoyed quilting, flowers, birds, her years of devotion and service with the Southside Church of Christ, and her family, especially her grandchildren and their spouses, great-grandchildren and extensive extended family. Prior to moving to Rogers, she lived in Los Angeles after retiring as a U.S. Postal Service clerk and had also worked as a day-care provider, school cafeteria worker, crossing guard among other jobs. She is survived by her sons, Clark "Danny" Daniel Telford and Susan of California and Don Telford and Wendy of California; daughter, Callie "Darlene" Forbess and Rod of Missouri; brother, Bill Daugherty of Arizona; sister, Anna Lee Jones of Rogers; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark D. Telford Sr.; her twin, Lydia Collins; sisters, Blanche Yancy, Ruby Thompson, Callie Calvin and Dorothy Evans. A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 25 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers, and visitation will precede at 9:30 am, with Jackie Chestnutt officiating.
