Meral Maxine Upshaw

Meral Maxine Upshaw, 88, of Fayetteville died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born July 28, 1924, in Johnson, Ark., to Jess and Ella Mae Teague Neal. Maxine was a dietitian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon "Dud" Upshaw; two grandsons and two sisters. Survivors include two sons, Carl Upshaw of Oklahoma and Johnny Lee Upshaw of Texas; one sister, Dorothy Yeager of Springdale; her special friend, Sheila Andrews of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Church of Christ, with Johnny Dockery officiating. Burial will be in Stuckey Cemetery.
