James Leon Williams, 79, of Springdale, Ark., died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. He was born Nov. 13 1933, in Yonkers, Okla., to George Calvin and Ola Mae Burchett Williams. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He earned the Bronze Medal and Silver Star. James worked for Dow Chemical as a chemical specialist. He loved playing chess. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Jean Williams; one son, Peter Quiosay; one granddaughter, Melinda Williams; and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Abelita Williams of the home; four sons, Jeffery Williams of Hitchcock, Texas, Rodney Williams and wife, Betty, of Karnack, Texas, Gary Williams and wife, Lee Ann, of Cleveland, Texas, and Ray Quiosay and wife, Alexandra, of Moore, Okla.; four daughters, Marcella Taylor and husband, Rick, of Bethel Heights, Dorothy Kelly of Springdale, Jo Ann Clark and husband, Brandon, of Cave Springs, and Jacqueline Simon and husband, Mark, of Rogers; one brother, Denver Williams and wife, Francis, of Ivanhoe, Calif.; two sisters, Erma Baker and Imojean Jackson; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be Monday, March 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Dixon officiating.
