Nicholas Wayne Askew, 24, of Fayetteville passed away March 11, 2013. He was baptized by profession of faith May 2007 and recommitted his life to Christ in 2012. He is now received in the loving arms of his savior Jesus Christ, where he can sing a new song. Nick's passion for music is known by all who loved and cared for him and by many only touched by his music. Nick was a talented musical artist with a beautiful mind and spirit. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Kenneth Wade Askew. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Kim and Shaun DuBois; father and stepmother, Quentin and Stephanie Askew; his loving sister, Jessica Askew; adoring and caring grandmother, Pat Connell; and grandparents, Jim Connell, Sally Connell and Barbara and Charlie Moss. Nicholas is survived and missed by his band-mates of Apartment 5, J.D. Paul, Joel Paul and Max Glenn, as well as many friends and relatives. Nick will be missed by all, but he leaves his legacy and music to remind us of his short beautiful life and the glorious hope of hearing him sing in heaven to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Sequoyah United Methodist Church in Fayetteville with Pastor Harry Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Sons Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Beard's Funeral Chapel. Please join us and celebrate Nicholas' life and passion for music.
