Patricia McGuire (Grimes) of Fayetteville, Ark., peacefully passed away at her home on March 7, 2013, while surrounded by her loved ones. Known to many as "Patti" and to her five grandchildren as "Wacky," Patricia was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Nov. 1, 1937, and grew up in Plattsburg, Mo. A 1955 graduate of Plattsburg High School, Patricia graduated with a B.S. in education from the University of Kansas after also attending Lindenwood College. She was a proud Jayhawk and an active member of Delta Delta Delta sorority as a collegiate and as an alumna at the University of Arkansas. Married to Donald L. Grimes for 43 years, she raised three children in Fayetteville and opened her own business, Ozark Collection Bureau. Her last years were spent enjoying family and traveling the world, including trips to Puerto Rico, Cancun, Morocco, Spain and Switzerland. Patricia spent 25 wonderful years overlooking Fayetteville from her home on Mount Sequoyah. She took many daily walks around the hill with her dog, Roxie. She was loved by many friends and neighbors on Mount Sequoyah. Patricia is survived by her daughter, Tana Dawson of Fayetteville, and her children, Rebecca, Rosa and Kathryn Marinoni; her daughter, Andrea Grimes Woods of Conway and her husband, Jeff, and their children, Cullen and Abigail Woods; great-granddaughter, Aerilynn Rodriguez; and dear friend, Gerald Golden of Kearney, Mo. She is preceded in death by her son, Rodney Scott Grimes; her brother, Richard McGuire; and her mother, Frances Kathryn Orr. A memorial Mass will be held to celebrate Patricia's life at noon Monday, March 11 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 1722 N. Starr Drive in Fayetteville, under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, Ark. A lunch reception will follow the service at the church. A graveside service will be held at Grayson Cemetery, Grayson, Mo., on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 1722 N. Starr Road, Fayetteville, Ark.
