Annis Martha Baker

June 1, 1927–Feb. 28, 2013. Annis Martha Baker, of Ceres, Calif., passed away at the age of 85, her family at her side. Funeral services were held March 6 at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson, Calif. Annis was born in Springdale, first child of Lee and Margie Sizemore. Annis met her husband, Clarence Baker when they were children, then dated as teenagers. Clarence joined the military and they never saw each other again. After 40+ years and the passing of their spouses, the couple reunited and were married for 20 years until her passing. Annis loved to can fruits and vegetables from her trees and garden. She loved everyone and never met a stranger. Annis was a member of Village Chapel Church of Ceres. Annis is survived by three children, Larry Meeks and Regina Fiori and Tina Duncan; eight stepchildren, Gordon Baker, Johnny Baker, Terry Baker, Gary Baker, Judy Foulk, Veda Lahn, Doris George and Brenda Freeman; five sisters, Helen Whittle, Edith Usrey, Lissie McClain, Elea McClain, and Sharline Doyle; three brothers, Willie Sizemore, Gary Sizemore and Eugene Sizemore; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 19 stepgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Annis was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Leonard Sizemore.
