Floyd Allen Pruet

Floyd Allen Pruet, 71, a resident of Fayetteville, went to be with his Lord and loving wife on Monday, March 4, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Baird, Texas, the son of Arnold Floyd and Mary Kathleen Green Pruet. He was married to Carol Jean Pruet for 46 years. He was a loving, caring husband and father, known for his amazing sense of humor. He was said to be a kind-hearted and loving person by everybody who was blessed to meet him. He retired in 1992 as a highly-decorated Master Chief Machinist Mate after serving 30 years in the United States Navy. He has received numerous awards and medals for his outstanding conduct (six medals) and service for our country, including: the Vietnam Service Medal with one star, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with two stars for serving in Operation Desert Storm aboard the USS Missouri, The Kuwait Liberation Medal, two National Defense Medals and a combat action ribbon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother, Joe Pruet. He is survived by two daughters, Julie Pruet of Fayetteville and Sandra Pruet of San Diego, Calif.; one son, Thomas Pruet of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; one sister, Barbara Hodges Pruet of Putman, Texas; one brother, Glen Allen Pruet of Richardson, Texas; and three grandchildren, Michael, Cherise and Ricky.
