Mary Louise Engelke, age 85 of Rogers, passed away Feb. 26, 2013. Mary was born May 11, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pa,. to parents Frank and Elizabeth Haines. As a young lady, Mary was united in marriage to Robert A. Engelke and they enjoyed 25 love filled years together. Mary worked for the Army and federal government in the Panama Canal Zone for 30 years. In 1980 she retired and moved to Rogers. She was an active member of Saint Vincent DePaul Catholic Church; She was a member of their choir for many years. She was a leader in the first Little Rock Scripture study program at Saint Vincent's. Mary also belonged to the Marian and charismatic prayer groups. Mary was devoted to her family, and was a very caring and loving mother and grandmother. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Engelke; parents; parents in law; two brothers, Frank and John Haines; sister, Clara Bryant, and daughter-in-law Alice Engelke. She is survived by her son, Robert J. Engelke and wife Nellie Engelke of St. Petersburg, Fla.; son, Thomas G. Engelke of Seminole, Fla.; daughters, Susan Engelke of Jacksonville, Fla. Kathleen Engelke-Crowell of Rogers and Margaret E. Engelke of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Elizabeth McKinney of Baltimore, Md.; Margaret Samples of Fla. and June Israel of Maine; grandchildren, Robert Engelke, Angela Engelke, Jennifer Engelke, Christopher Engelke, Erin Husky, Alison Schnedler, Laura Tacker, Todd Gallardo, Brad Gallardo, Evan Engelke, Eileen Engelke; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Eden, Taylir Eden, Jonathan Brock, Conner Brock, Alexander Schnedler, Willow Schnedler, Joseph Schnedler, Kathleen Tacker, Lauren Tacker, Caprice Tacker, Zachary Hutchins; great-great-grandchildren Robert Engelke, Mia Engelke, Kai Lai, Aliyah Lai, Savannah Gallardo, Anthoney Gallardo, Cole Gallardo, Emma Gallardo, Javier Eden, Sergio Eden, Graciela Eden, Eraiya Eden, Krymzen Eden, Solstice Brock, and a host of other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church of Rogers, with interment to follow at Benton County Memorial Park of Rogers. The family will have a Rosary service and receive guests at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers, 3800 W.Walnut, Rogers.
