Chad Collins, 33, of Woodburn, Ore., formerly of Pea Ridge, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, in the Portland, Ore., Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1980, in Rogers to Jerry and Jackie Collins. He lived in Pea Ridge until he was 18, when he joined the U.S. Navy, in which he served from October of 1998 until October 2008. He enjoyed fishing, outdoors, carving and woodworking, but mostly spending time with his children, wife and family. He was a loving son, grandson, son-in-law and uncle, but most of all a loving father, husband and best friend. He loved the Lord and church. When he died, he was a great example of how to live your life for Jesus. He was truly Christ-like and one could see the light shining through him. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Louise Morrison Harlan; maternal grandfather, Jack McDaniel; and maternal step-grandfather, Harold Harlan. Survivors include his wife, Miriam Collins, of the home; his daughter, Lainee Collins, of the home; his son, Noah Collins, of the home; his parents, Jerry and Jackie Collins of Pea Ridge; his in-laws, David and Darcy Fitch of Oregon; his paternal grandmother, JoAnn Collins of Pea Ridge; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge, with Pastor Mike McDaniel officiating. Local arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Honors will be by VFW Post 3031. Donations may be made to autism research including Autism Speaks.org. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.
