Marion LeRoy Mayes, 78, of Saint Paul died June 16, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. LeRoy was born in Kansas City, Kan., on Dec. 25, 1934, to Sammie and Georgia Kilgore Mayes. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 39 years, Katherine Virginia Hill Mayes; two brothers, William Mayes and Freddy Mayes; six children, Tommy Morgan, Jimmie "Moose" Morgan, Larry Morgan, Jack Morgan, Mary Katherine Morgan and Virginia Ray Morgan; one granddaughter, Tabitha Morgan; and one great-grandson, Jared Cole Morgan. LeRoy was a trucker and a United States Navy veteran. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and never met a stranger. He served over 20 years as a Justice of the Peace on the Madison County Quorum Court. He is survived by one daughter, Mesha Smith of Saint Paul; one grandson, Shawn Smith of Combs; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Philip Morgan of Alabam and Dan and Judy Morgan of Fayetteville; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Shirley and Richard Norton of California, Pam and Ervin Kimball of Saint Paul, Peggy and Darrell Lackey of Crosses and Brenda Haught of Saint Paul; two daughters-in-law, Wanda Morgan and Brenda Morgan, both of Saint Paul; seven grandsons; eight granddaughters; ten great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; nieces; nephews; and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. June 20, 2013, at Brashears Funeral Home with T.J. Bennett, minister, officiating. Interment will be at the Morgan Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net. Pallbearers are Mike Morgan, Shane Kimball, Sheldon Lackey, Shawn Smith, Brandon Morgan, Shad Haught, Tyler Morgan and Richard Canady. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brashears.
