Anna Lavada Moreton, former resident of Ft. Smith, Ark., passed away June 12, 2013, at the age of 92 years and 364 days. She was born June 13, 1920, in Bennington, Okla., to Thomas Oliver and Bertha Anna Bartlett Baskin. She was a lifelong mother and homemaker with many interests including gardening, cooking and her family will miss her dearly. She was a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her four daughters, Anna Jean Richards and husband, Earl of Pocola, Okla., Brenda Harrell and husband, Kenneth of Rudy, Ark., Glenda Anders and husband, Bob of Camden, Ark., and Donna Gill and husband, Ed of Pocola, Okla.; one son, Charles Moreton and wife, Gerita of Summers, Ark.; 15 grandchildren, Charlotte Holt of Ozark, Ark., Debbie Brown of Pleasant View, Ark., Audry Morgan of Mountainburg, Ark., Jennifer Burgess of Fort Smith, Ark., Dax Moreton of Summers, Ark., Dayne Moreton of Fort Smith, Ark., Nick Harrell of Conway, Ark., Vada Harrell of Alexandria, Ark., Amy Sanchez of Camden, Ark., Angie Anders of Bryant, Ark., Kerri Beyer of Springdale, Ark., Robin Johnson of Fort Smith, Ark., Ashley Davis of Muskogee, Okla., Brandy Aaron of Texas and Robert Richards of Pocola, Okla.; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Wayne W. Moreton; grandson, K.C. Harrell; four sisters, Ivy Shoemake, Myrtis Allen, Dessie Allen and Lorene Nichols; and two brothers, Frank Baskin and Joe Baskin. Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at Rye Hill Baptist Church with burial at a later date in the U.S. National Cemetery, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Dax Moreton, Nick Harrell, Chendo Sanchez, David Holt, Dayne Moreton, Jason Beyer, Joe Johnson, Keith Brown, Chase Morland and Robert Richards. The family would like to thank Pocola Health and Rehab and Peachtree Hospice for the great care and many acts of kindness.
