Marion Marie Parker

Marion Marie Parker, 90, of Rogers, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2013. Marion was born in McGehee to Albert and Stella Ellington on Jan. 18, 1923. She lived in Dermott most of her life, and it was there that she met her darling husband, William "Billy" Parker, of 63 years. Marion had an unwavering faith that was a comfort and a light to all that met her. She was a talented artist that created beautiful paintings that will be cherished by her family. She was an amazing woman who invested in the lives of others. Whether it was playing video games with her grand-kids or bean bag baseball with her friends, she always lived life to the fullest. She taught us the importance of faith, family, and love. We are better people because of her impact on our lives. She is survived by her three children: Jimmy (Sandy) Parker of Atkins, Texas; Pat (Dale) Rood, Cypress, Texas; Danny (Betty Sue) Parker, Bella Vista, Ark.; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Edna Jones and May Alice Harmon, and one brother, William Ellington. Marion's husband, Billy, passed away in Sept. of 2010. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Oliver Ellington and Robert Ellington; sister, Ida Staton and step-sister, Myrtle Smith. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Dermott Cemetery in Dermott, Ark. Family and friends may also attend a viewing Monday evening, June 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello, Ark. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
