Nelson Chavers

Nelson Chavers, 78, of Knoxville, died July 29, 2013. A barber for 40 years in Springdale before moving back to Knoxville in 2011. Preceded in death by his wife, Freda East Chavers. Survivors: sons, John Roy Chavers, Washington, Jay Mowery Chavers, Washington; stepson, Kenneth (Bertie) Harkey, Springdale; several grandchildren and six step-grandchildren. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Aug. 1, Hardwicke Funeral Chapel, Clarksville. Burial, Knoxville Cemetery.
