Dolores Ann Shelley Edelen Bryant

Dolores Ann Shelley Edelen Bryant of Springdale passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville at the age of 84 years. Dolores was born March 30, 1929, in Shawnee, Okla., to parents Dewey Lee Bertram Shelley and Beulah May (Hulsey) Shelley. She was a graduate of Tonkawa High School class of 1947. She had many academic achievements; she earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma, a master's degree from the University of Arkansas, a doctoral degree candidate at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and was a professor of music education at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville. She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas in Rogers. Dolores is survived by her husband of 37 years, Horace Ellsworth Bryant of Springdale. She is survived by her children: daughter, Shelley Edelen Cooper and husband, Mike of Boise, Idaho, daughter, Annette Edelen of Rogers, Ark., daughter, Nancy Edelen Shirley and husband, Tom of Rogers, Ark., son, Michael Bryant and wife, Gay of Fayetteville, Ark., and son, Mark Bryant of Springdale, Ark.; nine grandchildren, LaKesha Edelen, Brianna Miller, Kristin Jeter, KeShawn Mahone, Casey Bryant, Lauren Bryant, Sarah Hughes, Eli Bryant and Jesse Stuckey; and nine great-grandchildren, Rodrick, Darrien, Deja, Ali Jr., Taye, Tianna, Tatiyana, Ianna and Aliyah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Lee Bertram Shelley and Beulah May Hulsey Shelley; a son, Robert Lee Edelen; and a great-granddaughter, Aalisha. Visitation for Dolores will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers. Friends and family are also welcome to sign the guest book at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Services are at noon Friday, July 19, 2013, at Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas, 1051 W. Pleasant Grove Road, Rogers, Ark., with burial to follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
