Howard Lemuel Williams Jr.

Howard Lemuel Williams Jr., 76, of Springdale, transitioned from this life on Monday, July 1, 2013, at his home, after living courageously for four years with cancer. He was born April 14, 1937, in Tulsa, Okla., to Howard Sr. and Dorothy (Nelson) Williams. Howard was devoted to his family. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, the Ozark outdoors, and traveling the backroads with Betty. He never met a stranger. During his life, he had many careers including district manager for Frito-Lay, mining uranium, over-the-road truck-driving, and was the owner and operator of Advance Glass Co. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Rachel Irene Nolte, Virginia Protsman and Wilma Brown. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Bragg) Williams, of the home; three children, Sarah Calico Williams of Pahoa, Hawaii, Howard Levi Williams and wife, Sandra, of Springdale, Anna Lorraine Williams and partner, Valentina LaPier, of East Glacier Park, Mont.; two grandchildren, Melissa Amy Williams of Billings, Mont., Raymond Levi Williams of Springdale; several nieces and nephews, including Bryan K. Steel of Springdale; and Howard and Betty's cherished dog, Pepper. All friends and relatives are invited to attend a barbeque celebration of Howard's life on July 20, 2013, at 4 p.m. at the family home in Springdale.
