Sally Brezinski

Peacefully, while in her sleep, Sally Brezinski, passed away on June 27, 2013. She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Robert; her children, Janet Menard (Darrell) from Russell, Ontario, Canada, Linda Dunleavy, Tracey Johnson (Erik) from Arlington, Va., Andrew Brezinski (Addie) from Claremore, Okla., John Brezinski and Daniel Brezinski. She is mourned by her grandchildren, Nathan Menard, Matthew Menard, Rebecca Menard, Colum Dunleavy, Tara Dunleavy, Anya Brezinski and Eleanor Johnson. Sally is also survived by her sister, Pat Schaefer (Bill) from Utopia; brother, Jim Clower (Carolyn) from San Antonio; nieces, Vicki Kring, Tricia Van Pelt, Laura Richarz, Judy Guttierez (Dave), Theresa Johnston, Rhonda Wiggins and Christie Clower; and nephew, Rockney Clower. She is preceded in death by her father, Leon Clower; her mother, Inez Horton Clower; her aunt, Ima Horton Shahan; and uncle, JD Horton. Sally will also be missed by her foster children, Chip Benedict from Fayetteville, Ark., and Arturo Rodriguez from Gainesville, Texas. Sally was a strong free-spirit who worked hard to raise and nurture six children. Beside her military husband, she traveled across North America, happily packing and unpacking, through numerous postings. She was passionate about family, learning and doing the right thing even when it was hard. She went to a university as an adult and obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in history which only served to fuel the flames of her passion for learning. Pallbearers include John Brezinski, Daniel Brezinski, Andrew Brezinski, Colum Dunleavy, David Kring and Robert Richarz. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at St. Raymond Catholic Church in Leakey, Texas, with Father Sady Santana officiating. Interment will follow at Leakey Floral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Medina Children's Home, 21300 State Hwy 16, Medina, TX 78055 or the American Diabetes Association,8610 N.
