Marlin Ivan Denton, 85, of Mountainburg, Ark., died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville. He was born Dec. 2, 1927, in Nash County, N.C., the son of Mary Magdalena Massey and William Webster Denton. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 64 years after moving from Alaska. He enjoyed the Cowboy Lifestyle and spending time in the outdoors, he was an author and historian. His interests were woodworking, art, also he was a musician and songwriter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter; Terry Denton, granddaughter; Ashley Mann, two brothers, and two sisters. Marlin is survived by his wife, Rose M. Denton, of Mountainburg whom he married June 9, 1981, four stepsons; Robert Sisco, of Shell Knob, Mo., Tim Sisco and his wife, Dian, of Fayetteville, Ron Sisco and his wife, Karen, of Springdale, Don Sisco and his wife, Heidi, of Missouri; three daughters, Janet Cordell and her husband, Richard, of Greenland, Laura Denton, of Mountainburg, Adina Huckins and her husband, David, of West Fork; one stepdaughter; Sandi Lawrence and her husband, Monte, of Shell Knob, Mo., one brother, Pedro Denton and his wife, Helen, of Anchorage, Alaska, one sister; Betty Denton of Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
