Flossie Brown Kincaid
Flossie Brown Kincaid, 92, of Springdale died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born April 6, 1920, in Olney, Okla., to Andrew Jackson and Isabel Foster Brown.
She graduated from Olney High School in Olney, Okla., in 1938. She took defense training and moved to Wichita, Kans., to work for Boeing Aircraft. During World War II, she was a "Rosie the Riveter." She moved to Arkansas in 1962.
She worked for Daisy Manufacturing for 23 years before retiring. She loved reading, going to southern gospel singings and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of Elmdale Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery from 1962 to 2007. She loved the kids that she looked after, she had a special connection with children and had a knack for soothing them and loved getting down in the floor to play with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Essie Gilbert, Jewel Hart, Pearl Estes, Myrtle Couch and Josephine Cellman; and three brothers, Jessie Brown, James Brown and Herbert Brown.
She is survived by one son, Edwin Wallace "Wally" Kincaid and wife, Edith of Moore, Okla.; one daughter, Ava Lynn George and husband, Michael of Springdale; two grandchildren, Lori Villalobos and husband, Cesar of Rogers and Coty George of Springdale; and many nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at the funeral home.
