James Clarence Allen (Dec. 8, 1914 - Jan. 25, 2013) James Clarence "Jim" Allen 98, of Hindsville, Ark., died Jan. 25, 2013, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab at Huntsville. He was born Dec. 8, 1914, at Clifty, Ark., the son of William Clarence and Mary Francis Ames Allen. He had been an oil field worker, farmer, ABC agent for the State of Arkansas and a Wilson Processing plant worker. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of Little Spring Lodge No. 230, Free and Accepted Masons at Hindsville and a Free Will Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Hazel Lucille Hadley Allen, on Nov. 25, 2011; one son-in-law, Bobby Ray Cook; two brothers, Fred Allen and Ed Allen; and three sisters, Cleo Kelly, Alice Pergueson, Ollie Bond and Ella Allen. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Patricia Allen of Hindsville, Ark.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Ina and Don Grimes of Wyandotte, Okla., Sharron Cook of Kingston, Ark., and Mary Elaine Gardner of Hindsville, Ark.; nine grandchildren, James and Shana Cook of Siloam Springs, Ark., John and Brook Cook of Huntsville, Ark., Cody and Natalie Grimes of Sumner, Iowa, Bradley Grimes of Wyandotte, Okla., Gene Gardner, Elizabeth and Randall Stout, Josh, Jake and Samantha Allen, all of Hindsville, Ark.; nine great-grandchildren, Dalton and Jordan Cook of Siloam Springs, Ark., Shelby, Logan and Jackson Cook of Huntsville, Ark., Ethan and Emma Grimes of Sumner, Iowa, and James and Bud Stout of Hindsville, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwayne Lane officiating. Interment will be in the Clifty Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, at Huntsville. Pallbearers will be Rusty Goss, Frankie Fitch, Gary Bohannan, James Anderson, William F. Sharp and Johnnie Stansell. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Evans, Ron Evans, Bill Fitch, Cord Riley, Mitchell Hadley, Mike Vaughan, Richard Kelley, Don Kelley, W.S. Clark and Roy Eugene Pergueson. Masonic Rites will be by Little Spring Lodge No. 230, Free and Accepted Masons. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family present.
