Henry "H.C." Harris

Henry "H. C." Harris, 73, passed from this life Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale after a long, hard fight with cancer. He was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Mulberry, Ark., to D. C. and Eunice Beck Harris. He graduated from Pleasant View High School in Mulberry. He attended the School Of the Ozarks for two years then transferred to the University of Arkansas for one year. In 1962, he was employed by Miller Electric and worked as an electrician in air conditioning. Many buildings on the University of Arkansas campus bear his fingerprints through his work as an electrician. His proudest achievement was the new football stadium. His last project was a new clock on the tower of Old Main. He also was a volunteer of Wheeler Fire Department. Henry Clay wore many hats. To most people, he was H.C.; to some he was Big H.; to others he was husband, dad, papa, or friend. Henry was preceded in death by one son, Michael J. Harris. He is survived by his wife, Pat, to whom he was married in 1960, two sons, Mark J. Harris of Fayetteville and Robbie Owen and wife Kathy of Bentonville; one daughter, Kim Piazza of Fayetteville, eight grandchildren: Robin Cooper, Jamie Tumleson, Justin Harris, Heather Walker, Cody Hess, Tiffany Hess, Blake Piazza, and Abby Harris; one great-grandson, Bentley Tumleson; a sister Geneva Crowley; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. He will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held from 4–6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27 at Moore's Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Moore's Chapel with burial in Mount Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
