Delvin Dean Alan Murray

Delvin Dean Alan Murray passed on Dec. 19, 2012, in Trout Creek, Mont., where he lived. He was born April 6, 1936, in Springdale, Ark., and lived in the Rogers and Bentonville area until 1985. He then moved to Yuma, Ariz., with his wife, Geneva, and son, Audey. He owned and operated Murray's RV Sales for 12 years. When he retired from that, he moved to his beloved Montana and bought a ranch. Delvin was a brick mason in the 1960s and '70s in this area and built many brick homes and fireplaces, including the building where the Rogers Morning News is. Delvin was a very talented musician, singer and songwriter and even recorded his music in Nashville on the Showcase record label. He was very active in his church, Seventh-day Adventist, with his music and singing. Delvin is preceded in death by both his parents, Claud and Minnie Murray of Rogers; a son, Avery Alan Murray; a daughter, Jessie Elrisa Lukenbaugh of Fort Smith; also a baby son, Delvin Michael; three sisters, Charlene McFerrin, Evelyn Jones and Betty Bell. He is survived by his son, Audey F. Murray and wife, Malia of Noxon, Mont.; his daughter, Sherry Dotson and husband, Jim, of Rogers; also nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dell Boyd of Rogers, Lois Kaszycki of Bentonville, and Carolyn Ward of Gravette. Delvin was cremated in Montana; his ashes will be buried in the Spring Creek Cemetery with a graveside service sometime around his birthday in early April, date to be announced at a later time.
