Carole Hamblin

Carole "Polly" Hamblin, age 57, of Eureka Springs, Ark., went to be with her heavenly Father, Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. She was born Oct. 29, 1955, in Independence, Mo., to Dorothy Marie and William Lockhart. Most of her childhood was spent in Blue Springs, Mo. She loved to travel. Together with her mother, they saw nearly all of the continental United States. Polly was best-known for being a loving mother and caring friend. She was an active volunteer for the Eureka Springs School District while her children were young, and she was a Girl Scout troop mom for her daughter's troop for several years. Polly loved crafts and visited War Eagle every year. She had a small business decorating shirts. Some hobbies included cooking and camping. Polly was the secretary/treasurer of Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church, which she had been a member for 13 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution James Bright Chapter in Bentonville, Ark. She is survived by her husband, Steve Hamblin of Eureka Springs; two children, Katie Hamblin-Smith and husband, Brandon, of Eureka Springs, Ark., Will Hamblin and wife, Terra, of Eureka Springs, Ark.; mother, Dorothy Lockhart of Rogers, Ark.; siblings, Bill Lockhart of Lansing, Mich., Joe Lockhart of Columbia, S.C., Charles Lockhart of Rogers, Ark.; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Kenneth Hamblin of Eureka Springs. She was preceded in death by her father, William Lockhart; and sister, Janet Martin. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Joe Summers and Bro. Dennis Green officiating. Memorial donations may be sent to Patient's Choice Hospice, #2 Park Cliff Drive, Holiday Island, AR 72631.
