Patricia Ann Kinsey

Patricia Ann Kinsey passed away on Jan. 17, 2013, at Bishop Drumm Care Center. Pat was 88 years old. She was born in Lincoln, Ill., but lived in West Des Moines, Iowa, from 1960 to 1985. Upon her husband Larry's retirement, they moved to Lake Panorama and lived there until moving to Bella Vista, Ark., from 1990 to 2009. She returned to Clive, Iowa, in 2009. Pat will be remembered for her culinary skills and needlework, especially making quilts, knitting hats, stuffed animals and toys for family, friends and underprivileged children. She and her late husband, Larry, loved ballroom dancing at the Val Aire Ballroom. The "gift of gab" came naturally and she never left anyone as a stranger. Pat loved and is loved and is remembered by her surviving daughter, Barbara Wente (Don); and son, Robert Kinsey (Beverly); five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by one brother, Don Shea; and one sister, Lois Olson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Kinsey; her parents and a brother. The family would like to thank the staff of Bishop Drumm for the loving care they gave our mom. A private memorial service celebrating the lives of Pat and Larry will be held this summer at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
