Lonnie Eugene Speed

Lonnie Eugene Speed, 62, of Siloam Springs, Ark., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at the Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. Mr. Speed was born Feb. 13, 1950, in Siloam Springs, Ark.; he was the son of Robert Burly and Cleta Speed. Lonnie married Nina Sue Saylor on March 25, 1985, in Miami, Okla. Mr. Speed drove a truck for Wal-Mart for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time at home and riding on his tractor. Lonnie was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include wife, Nina Sue Speed, of the home; children, Johnny Bruffet and wife, Brenlee, of Brownsboro, Texas, Brenda Lee Wilson of Seagoville, Texas, Bo Speed and wife, Julie, of Prairie Grove; six grandchildren; brother, David Speed of Siloam Springs; sisters, Dorothy Rankin and husband, Elvin, of Gentry, Wanda Straub of Freemont, Calif., Freda Gibbs and husband, Bill, of Siloam Springs, Betty Duncan of Decatur. Lonnie is also survived by many loved ones and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents R.B. and Cleta. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. The funeral will be held at the Backstrom–Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark., at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom–Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
