Helen Anderson

Helen Anderson, 97, of Springdale died Jan. 13, 2013. She was born Sept. 17, 1915, in Slate Springs, Miss., to Walter Hix and Sally McPhail. Helen was married in 1937 to Harvey Garrison and lived in Memphis for 56 years before moving to Springdale in 1991. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and four sisters. She is survived by one brother, Frank McPhail of Hernando, Miss.; four sons, Harvey Anderson of Kinston, N.C., Jim Anderson of Lakeland, Tenn., David Anderson of Tulsa, Okla., and Larry Anderson of Springdale; two daughters, Gwendolyn Warren of Southhaven, Miss., and Patsy Sugg of Springdale; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Helen was a member of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. Services will be held at Forest Hills Funeral Home East in Memphis, Tenn.
