David Michael Medlock

David Michael Medlock, 34, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. He was born on Jan. 10, 1979, in Tulsa. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Earl and Erin Cates, and Sue and Leon Medlock. Survivors include his parents, Dan and Lyna Medlock of Germantown, Tenn.; sister, Rebecca (Birch) Wright; nephew, Parker Wright; niece, Caroline Wright of Fayetteville, Ark.; and brother, Steven Medlock of Memphis. Other survivors are Karen and Mike Albright of Broken Arrow, Okla., Jeff and Mary Jane Silva of Fayetteville, Ark., and Max and Lisa Conner of Prairie Grove, Ark.; and many cousins and extended family. David graduated from Germantown High School. He attended UMKC and graduated from the University of Memphis, playing soccer for both colleges. David had a tremendous love for the game of soccer, whether it be playing, coaching or just watching. The family would like to give special thanks to his doctors and hospital staff for their care and compassion during his fight against cancer. David knew he was loved by many friends and family in his too short walk through life. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Farmington Methodist Church in Farmington, Ark., at 11 a.m., Thursday with burial in Rutherford Family Cemetery.
