Brenda Sue Gabbard

Brenda Sue Gabbard, 59 of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in Fayetteville. She was born Feb. 22, 1953, in Green Forest, Ark., to John Douglas and Thelma Ruth (Morris) Douglas. She was proudly retired from Claims Management Inc. and attended Ridgeview Baptist Church in Fayetteville. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Gabbard; sons, Jeremy Gabbard (wife Rachel) and Jason Gabbard (wife Tamara); as well as her grandchildren, Jarron, Tyler, Jayden, Kaylia, Haven, Kiara, Olivia and Adalyn, her "Elite Eight." She was a proud sister of four siblings, Christine Hale (husband Jimmy), her late sister, Lorene Wheatley (husband Harold), her late brother, Homer "H.B." Douglas (wife Mary) and her sister, Charlotte Peterson (husband John). She was also loved by her brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Shawn Gabbard; her late father-in-law, Sherman Gabbard; and mothers-in-law, Helen Gabbard and Geraldine Gabbard. She will be greatly missed by numerous lifelong friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 14 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charlie Brown officiating.
