Euola Mowery

Euola Mowery went to be with the Lord on Feb. 19, 2013, in Springdale, Ark., at the age of 92. Euola was born June 24, 1920, in Amity, Ark., to C.M. and Flossie Fulmer Louton. She was an active member of The United Methodist Church in Danville, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, A.C. Mowery Jr.; one son, Charles Thomas Mowery; two sisters, Marie Payne and Alberta Louton; one brother, Maurice Louton; and one niece, Lila Payne. She is survived by her son, A.C. Mowery III (wife, Geneva) of Springdale; a daughter, Marie Cain (husband, Jay) of Hurst, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Mowery of Springdale; one granddaughter, Lana Mowery Vowell (husband, Andy) of Springdale; four grandsons, Lonny Mowery (wife, Sherry) of Jacksonville, Charlie Mowery II of Springdale, Walter Cooper (wife, Rachelle) of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Jon Mowery of Ft. Worth, Texas. She is also survived by three great- grandchildren, Laci and Logan Vowell of Springdale and Taylor Cooper of Ft. Worth, Texas; and one niece, Wanda McCurdy of Beaverton, Ore. Euola relished her life as a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and A.C. lived in Huntsville for 16 years, where they raised their three children. While living there, she was an active member of the United Methodist Women and sang in the church choir. She served on the Huntsville School Board for five years, first as a member and later as president. Euola and A.C. retired and moved to Danville in 1972, where they lived for 34 years. Euola moved to Springdale in 2005, after the death of her husband. She had a great love for her family and will be remembered as a wonderful wife to her husband, mother to her children, and a loving "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A consummate mother and homemaker, one of her greatest joys was preparing meals for all of them. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23 at the United Methodist Church in Danville with burial in the Earl Ladd Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville, Ark.. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Danville United Methodist Church.
