Joe D. Ingram

Joe D. Ingram, 82, of Rogers went home to be with the Lord, Feb. 13, 2013, while a resident of Westwood Health & Rehabilitation in Springdale. Joe was the oldest of four sons and two daughters born to the late Edward and Edith Gibson Ingram. Joe was born April 14, 1930, in the neighboring community of War Eagle at his parents' home. He grew up in the Pine Creek and War Eagle areas, with a great respect and love for the outdoors. Joe worked on clearing timber and removing logs with a team of mules for what is now Beaver Lake. He worked for Workman Plastering for over 30 years doing stucco construction work on most of the shopping malls in Rogers, Fayetteville, Springdale and Harrison. Of those years, three years were enjoyed working with his son, David L. Ingram of Rogers, for the same employer. Joe and Mary Ann Warren Ingram were married Nov. 6, 1954, in Reno, Nev., and started their lives together in Brentwood, Ore. Joe worked as a logger in the Redwood Forest. He always had a joyful spirit about him, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone around him. Mary has laughed through the years telling stories of times Joe would bring home a ground squirrel in his metal lunchbox for her to find when she opened it. The couple moved to Rogers in April 1955, settling east of Rogers in what is now Prairie Creek. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Ingram of the home; son, David Ingram of Rogers; daughters, Judy K. Wilmoth of Texas, Charolette A. Warren of Oklahoma and Tami J. Hartman of Texas; brothers, Harley Ingram of Pea Ridge, Cleo Ingram of Huntsville; sisters, Charlotte Rogers of Little Flock, Pauline Evans of Rogers; six grandchildren, Jennifer L. Jones of Centerton, Heather M. Teel of Michigan, Katie J. Kroll of Texas, Julie K. Adamson of Texas, W. Eric Wilmoth of Texas, A.N. English III of Oklahoma; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Joe loved raising cattle and growing a garden. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Many camping trips to War Eagle were enjoyed by many. Most of all, Joe enjoyed holidays when his grandchildren were near laughing and playing. Joe was preceded in death by his infant son, Eddy Joe Ingram; granddaughter, Carmen R. English; parents, Edward and Edith Gibson Ingram; brother, Kenneth Ingram. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Rollins Funeral Home, 1401 W. Hudson Road in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, with Joe Mathias officiating. Burial in War Eagle Cemetery will follow, where Joe will be laid to rest beside his father and mother.
