Corolene Johnson

Corolene Johnson, 79, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark. She was born on Feb. 3, 1934, in Nemaha County, Kan., to Ocel Brammer and Delpha Meyer Brammer. She grew up on a farm near Goff, Kan., and graduated from Goff High School, Goff, Kan. She was employed by Sante Fe Railroad, Topeka, Kan., for 15 years. She married Gerald F. Johnson in 1955. They formerly lived in Topeka, Kan., Overland Park, Kan., Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Centreville, Va. She was active in Beta Sigma Phi (Women's Business Sorority, lifetime member), Christian Women's Club, church, school functions and neighborhood get-togethers. She moved with her husband to Bella Vista, Ark., in February 1987. She was a state area representative for AARP, a member of Bella Vista Baptist Church and later a charter member of Village Baptist Church of Bella Vista. She was preceded in death by her father, mother; one sister, Jeanette Brammer Swart; and one brother, O. Eugene Brammer. Survivors include her husband, Gerald Johnson; one daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Jordan Luhr; two grandchildren, Timothy and Taylor Luhr; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Village Baptist Church, 380 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista. Burial will be at the Bella Vista Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Village Baptist Church, 380 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista, AR 72715.
