William Deric Lewis

William Deric Lewis, 86, of Gravette, Ark., went to his heavenly home on Feb. 8, 2013, at Circle of Life in Bentonville, Ark. Deric was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Mullinville, Kan., to Charles William and Edith Alma (Noel) Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, William Loyd Lewis. Deric served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947 and was stationed in Korea. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha Frances (Turner) Lewis; four daughters, Thelma (Steve) Duty of Geronimo, Okla., Linda (Virgil) Jones of Gravette, Bethy (Jerry) Slyter of Centerton, Toni (Tim) Hinrichs of Rogers; two sons, James (Lois) Lewis of Gentry, Allen (Lori) Lewis of Bentonville; two sisters, Martha (Leroy) Hendrix of Rogers, Jackie (Art) Johnson, of Fremont, Neb.; one brother, Lee (Doris) Lewis of Rogers. Deric had 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews and his favorite horse, Bucky. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at First Christian Church of Bentonville with burial at Barron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life, 900 Verdant Lane, Bentonville, AR 72712. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
