Thomas 'Tommy' Butner

Thomas "Tommy" Butner, 72, of Springdale, Ark., passed away on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, Ark. Tommy was born on Feb. 10, 1940, in Lee's Summit, Mo., a son of John Butner and Margeret Matilda Butner. He retired from Tyson as a mechanic; he enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a member of Promise Keepers of Friendship Baptist Church of Springdale, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joy Jackson. He is survived by his two daughters, Lois Barnes and husband Frank of Lowell, Ark., and Malinda Ledbetter of Prairie Grove, Ark.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Barnes of Hindsville, Ark., Jesse Barnes and wife, Joey, of Garfield, Ark., Kellie Rainwater and husband, Troy, of Springdale, Ark., and Shelly Kounce and husband, John, of Midland, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, Zac Barnes, Jordan Barnes, Cody Barnes, Declan Barnes, Destinee Rainwater, Christain Rainwater, Erica Jaramillo, Nakia Jaramillo and Casey Ramirez; three great-great-grandchildren, Napolen Tafoya, Israel Tafoya and Nevaeh Jaramillo; one brother, Dan Butner; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Visitation will be held 2:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Grace officiating. Burial will be held at the Friendship Cemetery in Springdale.
