Estela Mendoza, 65, of Pensacola Beach, Florida, passed away Monday morning February 4, 2013. She was born January 29, 1948 in Havana, Cuba, the daughter of Paul Gonzalez de Mendoza and Estela Casares. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her beloved children. She will be forever missed. Estela was a Federally Certified Court Interpreter, founder of Arkansas Spanish Interpreters & Translators and recipient of the Arkansas Small Business Association's Minority Business Person of the Year in 2003. She retired to Pensacola Beach in 2007, where she taught Beach Tai Chi and faithfully served in the local nursing home teaching Spanish and Bible classes. She was a wonderful, devoted mother, serving as an excellent role model to her children. She taught them honor, humility, compassion, a strong work ethic, and a genuine love for Christ. She lived a spirit filled life and wanted to share the good news of Jesus with everyone. A viewing will be held Friday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. at Trahan Funeral Home in Pensacola, Florida, followed by a memorial at 1 p.m. Estela will be buried at the Rose Lawn Cemetery in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Memorials may be made to World Vision or Feed the Children in lieu of flowers. Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
