Kathleen Traylor Staton

Kathleen Traylor Staton, 79, of Fort Smith, Ark. passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Mercy Fort Smith. She was born in Wood River, Ill. to Elmer and Katherine (Lemons) Traylor. She graduated from Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. with a degree in nursing and retired from the administrative department of Cooper Clinic. She was a member of First Methodist Church and was in the Gleaner's Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, C.K. Gray, her beloved husband, Bob C. Staton and by her brother, Earl Traylor. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark. under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Ark. She is survived by her three daughters, Dianne Dyrhood and her husband Marty of Springdale, Ark., Ann Huffines and her husband Ray of Plano, Texas, and Kathy Redd and her husband Mike of Fort Smith, Ark.; one son, Dan Gray and his wife Terry of Williamsburg, Va.; a step daughter, Mary Ann Daugherty and her husband Tom of Tyler, Texas; a step son, Dr. Richard Staton and his wife Terese of Fort Smith, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, Laura, Andrew and his wife Brynne, and Meg Dyrhood, Mollie and her husband Layne Wiesendanger, Sam, Libby and Emily Huffines, Bryan, Hayden and Rachael Redd and Taylor and Melissa Gray; five step grandchildren, Sara and her husband Taylor Staley, Annie Staton, Suzanne and her husband Tom Lambert and Tommy and his wife Mallory and Melissa Daugherty; two step great grandchildren and her sister in law, Jackie Traylor of Ill. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
