Robert Earl Reed

Robert Earl (Punjo) Reed Sr., was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Galveston, Texas, to R.J. (Possum) and Ruth Reed. He departed this life Jan. 6, 2013, at Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View after a lengthy illness. Punjo, as he liked to be called, was a welder and pipe-fitter by trade, as was his father. He was an accomplished auctioneer, but his passion was entertaining. His writings and performances landed him several awards and inductions by his peers. His humor will truly be missed by all who have had the pleasure to see him perform. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; two stepsons and families and sons, Robert Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Humble, Texas, Donald of Prairie Grove, and Ronald and wife, Hayley, of Debary, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters include, Jesse Yother and wife, Anna, of Muskogee, Okla., Raymond Reed and wife, Yvonne, of Bakersfield, Calif., Sue Hicks and husband, Sol, of Bakersfield, Mildred Goutheir and husband, Nolan, of Port Arthur, Texas, Adeline Martinez and husband, Mike, of Bakersfield, Alta Reed of Bakersfield; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones, too numerous to mention. Services will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at the Church of Christ, 200 N.W. Ave., Lincoln, AR 72744. Graveside words after service at Dutch Mills Cemetery.
