Rebecca (Becki) Adams Peterson

Rebecca (Becki) Adams Peterson Rebecca passed on Friday afternoon, Dec. 27, 2013, after battling cancer for the past three years. She was raised in Wellsburg, W.Va., the daughter of Kenton Converse Adams and Esther Wiles Adams. Rebecca was a graduate of Texas Women's University and Indiana University. She worked professionally as a travel agent, a college instructor, a substitute teacher, middle school volleyball coach and with the developmentally disabled adult and student populations. She was a dedicated wife of 42 years, mother and grandmother. She was a past PTA president, and a lifelong active Christian Disciples of Christ church member. She made doll and matching clothes for our girls as well as later our granddaughter as well as many other crafts. She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Peterson, of Springdale, Ark.; daughters: Heather Peterson of Palm Coast, Fla., and Michelle Peterson Hite, son-in-law, Juddson Hite, granddaughters, Kaitlyn Mae Hite and Mia Kirkland Hite of Marietta, Ga. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Adams and wife, Dixie Good Adams, of East Earl, Pennsylvania and nieces and nephews. A memorial service is scheduled at the Millwood Christian Church on Pleasant Grove in Rogers, Ark., on Monday, Dec. 30 at 6:30 p.m. Her ashes will be later scattered over the Carolina Atlantic shore that she and the family so loved and enjoyed. The family asks that contributions be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers. Cremation was under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
