Larry 'Buck' Cloer

Larry "Buck" Cloer, age 67 of Bentonville, passed away, Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. Buck was born in Benton County, Ark., on Jan. 1, 1946, to Alvis and Estelle (Campbell) Cloer. Buck served his country in the United States Army National guard and retired from the guard with an honorable discharge. On March 14, 1995, he married Brenda Landers in Huntsville, Ark., and they were married for over 18 years. He was a member of the Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers, where he enjoyed being involved with the Holy Grounds Coffee Club. Buck worked as a supervisor for the Benton County Road Department for many years and enjoyed helping at the New Home Church in Bentonville. Buck was an outdoorsman and loved horses, fishing, running his hunting dogs, and being with his family. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jerry Williams; Buck is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the home; one son, Beau Cloer of Rogers; one stepson, Todd Stewart of Rogers; one sister, Polly Brewer of Bentonville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Benton County Memorial Park (3800 West Walnut) in Rogers. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at the Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church (203 Promenade Boulevard) in Rogers with the Rev. Shane D. Pair officiating. Interment will follow at Phillips Cemetery on Phillips Cemetery Road near Cave Springs with military honors. Online tributes to the family may be made at www.bentoncountymemorialpark.com.
