Helen Laurene Lannom

Laurene Lannom passed away Dec. 20, 2013, at Count Your Blessings Adult Foster Home. She was 90 years old. Laurene was born July 30, 1923, in Drumright, Okla. Laurene and her family moved to Bentonville, Ark., where she attended high school. She graduated in 1941, where she was also crowned Apple Blossom Queen. She married Roy Thomas Lannom, Sept. 7, 1941, and they were married 60 glorious years. They lived in San Diego and Temple City, Calif., from 1946-1971, and then moved to Rogue Valley. Laurene worked for Dr. Ferguson in Shady Cove, Ore. Laurene was a loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She loved painting and became a fantastic artist and she enjoyed golfing. One of her favorite experiences was traveling the USA with her husband, Roy. She is survived by her brother, James L. Butts; her children, Cheryl Orr, Michael Lannom, Diane Lannom and Donna Dixon; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy; granddaughter, Shawnee; brothers, Raymond, Bill; and sister, Mary Lou. A private service is being held at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
