Karen Sue Mahl

Karen Sue Mahl, 64, of Springdale passed from this life on Dec. 13, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. Karen was born on March 8, 1949, in Charleston, Ark., to Merril and Grace Autry Boatright. Karen worked in the insurance industry for 30 years. She loved the outdoors and water sports. She was a member of the Pink Divas and was a Race for the Cure participant. Karen was a warrior till the end and someone who loved life. Karen was preceded in death by her parents. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Shannon L. Mahl; her daughter, Stephanie Mahl Birmingham; her beloved grandchildren, Autumn Mahl and Dawson Birmingham; and a host of wonderful friends. A celebration of Karen's life will be scheduled at a later date. The family suggests that memorial donations may be given to The Willard Walker Hospice Home or Hope Cancer Resources.
