Agnes Lytton Reagan

Agnes Lytton Reagan, 99, of Rogers, Ark., died Dec. 13, 2013, at her home in Rogers, Ark. She was born Aug. 12, 1914, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Zenas Lytton Reagan and Agnes Dean Shelton Reagan. She was a member of Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta and attended Christ's Church in Rogers after her return in 1984. Agnes Lytton received a B.A. from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville; a Masters of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Library Science from Emory University in Atlanta; and a Masters of Science and Ph.D. in Library Science from the University of Illinois. Agnes Lytton was a member of the library staff at Agnes Scott College and Wellesley College; Assistant Professor and Associate Professor, Division of Librarianship at Emory University; an Accreditation Officer for the Committee on Accreditation of the American Library Association; and a Professor at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Texas at Austin, where she retired and returned to Rogers in 1984. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Kappa Iota, Rogers PanHellenic Organization, The American Library Association, and the Democrat Women's Club. She was also a Friend of the Rogers Public Library and the Rogers Historical Museum. She was predeceased in death by both of her parents and her two sisters, Betty Lynn Reagan, who passed away in September of 2005, and Mary Sue Reagan, who died in August of 2013. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with the Rev. Shawn Wallace officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers.
