Wendell Stanley Parsons, age 82, of Springdale went to meet his Lord on Dec. 12, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Oct. 22, 1931, in Morrisville, Vt., the son of Clifton and Ruth Parsons. He was a senior deacon at Rivers of Mercy Church in Springdale and a retired truck driver. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Parsons enjoyed eating at Neal's Cafe, traveling, fishing, camping, going to Branson and playing dominoes with his friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a loving father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded by his wives, Mary Ann Parsons in 1996 and Zo Brown Parsons in 2010. Mr. Parsons is survived by two daughters, Gwendell Hampton of Springdale and Vicki Behunin of Greenville, Ky.; four stepsons, Richard Seals and his wife, Rhonda, of Bella Vista, Ron Seals and his wife, Melanie, of LaBelle, Fla., Randy Brown and his wife, Andrea, of Springdale and David Brown of Rogers; one brother, Cecil Parsons and his wife, Pat, of Powell, Tenn.; one sister, Donna Mead and her husband, Robert, of Vermont; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. David Gosvener officiating. Burial will be in Fayetteville National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Rich Seals, Randy Brown, David Brown, Skyler Brown and Daniel Seals.
