Willard Roy Allen

Willard Roy "Will" Allen, 82, of Lowell passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, in Rogers. He was born July 23, 1931, to Willie and Margaret Hawkins Allen in Vian, Okla., who preceded him in death. In his youth he moved with his family to Colorado, where he lived most of his life, where he was a member of several bands through the years that entertained thousands in many venues throughout Colorado, before moving to Northwest Arkansas in 2001. His love of singing and playing his guitar continued into his later years, where he performed at his church, in schools and at several nursing homes. He enjoyed fishing and horseback-riding but loved being with people, especially the time he shared with his family, who will miss his sweet spirit. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Erwin-Allen of the home; two sons, Mike (Glena) Allen of Colorado and Rick (Sandy) Allen of Illinois; two grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Marie Stallard and Eva Marie Hamons of Colorado; a brother, Jack Allen of Colorado; and a loving extended family. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 1001 W. Price Lane in Rogers. Memorials are suggested to the church.
