William Earnest Baker

William Earnest Baker, age 85, of Springdale died Aug. 24, 2013, at the Earlene Howard Hospice House in Springdale. He was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Milan, Tenn., the son of Arthur and Bertie Strain Baker. Mr. Baker was a retired supervisor from the United States Postal Service and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He served in the United States Army during World War II and in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He is preceded by his parents; and one son, Dennis Irving Baker. Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne Young Baker of the home; two sons, Joe Baker and Robert Earnest Baker, both of Springdale; and three grandchildren. Private services were at Memorial Funeral Home. Private burial was at Fayetteville National Cemetery on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
