Marie Smith

Marie Smith, 76, of Garfield, died Friday, August 16, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. She was born August 2, 1937, at Garfield, to Cecil Loyd McGinnis and Leora Faye Byler McGinnis. She was a bank manager for Bank of America before retiring. She was an artist, painting in oils, making stained glass and she enjoyed traveling. She attended First Baptist Church in Garfield. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Alvis Loyd McGinnis. Survivors are her husband, Richard Smith of the home; a daughter, Crystal Grimes and husband Toby of Corinth, Texas; a brother, Marvin McGinnis of Garfield; three sisters, Aleta McGee of Bentonville, Shelby Prim of Garfield and Evelyn Lynch of Tahlequah, Okla.; seven nephews, Loyd McGinnis McKenzie, Eugene Rounds, Wayne Prim, Derrick Lynch, Mark McGinnis, Keiven McGinnis, and Brad McGee; two nieces, Anita McGinnis Poindexter, and Heather Head. Service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at First Baptist Church in Garfield with Dr. Derrick Lynch and Ralph Lynch officiating. Burial will be at Ruddick Cemetery.
