Mae Adeline Neal

Mae Adeline Neal, 90, of Lowell, Ark., passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at her home. Mae was born on Nov. 22, 1922, in Shiloh, Ark., a daughter of Flemon and Anna Self Watson. She married William "Bill" Neal on April 18, 1946, in Jasper, Ark. Mae was a homemaker and assisted her husband in their General Store and Post Office for many years in Nail, Ark. She loved gardening, crocheting, spending time with family and friends, especially her great-grandchildren. She was a charter member of the Nail United Baptist Church and a current member of the Springdale United Baptist Church. She was a longtime member of T.O.P.S. While living in Harrison, Ark., she was an active member of the Home Extension Club and volunteered many hours at the Ozark Share and Care Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; four brothers, George, Lewis, John and Francis; and seven sisters, Sarah, Fina, Ader, Mellie, Leta, Nancy and Nola. She is survived by three daughters, Betty and husband, Rea Sparks of Tecumseh, Okla., Thelma and husband, Ivan Bromley of Lowell, Ark., and Patricia and husband, Bruce Thurman of Van Buren, Ark.; one sister, Ida Willis of Springdale; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013. Funeral services will be held at the Mossville United Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013. The Rev. Jerry Spurlock will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Mossville Cemetery under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale. Pallbearers are Roy Watson, Jerry Watson, Denver Willis, Freddie Edgmon, Virgil Edgmon and Pete Edgmon. Honorary pallbearers are David Sparks, Matt Highfill, David Gilbert, Jim Buck and Tracy Brewer.
